The Bulgarian DTH platform Satellite BG has announced that it will cease broadcasting on June 1.
In a statement on the company’s website, it says that “as an expression of accountability to our subscribers”, it has agreed that they will receive proposals from Vivacom, which operates the DTH platform Vivacom TV.
Those that have pre-paid for the period after May 31 will have to contact Satellite BG to request a refund.
Earlier this month it was reported that Satellite BG’s subscriber total had fallen to only around 5,000 and that it was no longer accepting new customers.
Satellite BG began life as ITV Partner before being renamed Total TV and more recently Satellite BG.
It was at one stage owned by Mid Europa Partners (MEP), before being sold to the local entrepreneurs Ljubomir Pavlov and Rumen Atarski.
Satellite BG was distributed from Astra’s 23.5 degrees East orbital slot and completed in a market served by Vivacom TV and Bulsatcom.
It will soon also include a new platform operated by Telenor Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) and its local partner Neterra.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
